I wanted to buy a set of hid for my halo projectors, but worried about them melting them. are hid bulbs hotter than stock bulbs. especially the h1 sizes

 

i think as long as you are talking about real HID's and not xenon halogens, you should be ok. real hid's run at 35 watts or so, so they should run cooler than the halogens.

 

right... im not sure if this is correct... but i was told that the idea behind the HID bulbs is that they are injected with a different kind of gas that allows the filiment inside the bulb to burn brighter than a normal bulb at the same or cooler temperature... so according to that theory they would not be any hotter than a stock bulb...

 

hids run colder than regular bulbs.
