Default cf hood

Is $310 a good price for a brand new VIS Racing carbon fiber hood? Its for a 96-98 Civic. How is the quality and fitment of the VIS hoods?

Thanks for the link. $300 is a good price but the one for $310 is locally so I wouldn't have to pay shipping charges. I might have to jump of this.

Yea but shipping would probably be another 100+. And I could have this tomorrow if I wanted.

I've heard a few times on this forum about cf hood flying up on peoples cars but I really don't want to get hood pins cuz I think they're ugly. Is this something I should be worried about?

specifically

Sure, they use the stock latch, but it's usually bolted to the fiberglass skeleton, or laid into the fiberglass, and while it's pretty strong, it can fail under the right circumstances. Hell, I've seen stock hoods fly up on completely stock cars, so pins on a cf hood are just another precaution.

VIS hoods are great, gel coat with rolled edges :chuckles:.

You can try and find flush mount hood locks.
