As you may remember from a thread I posted a while ago, someone hit my car and crushed in the fender. I searched for about a month, and found an exact match for my car. The fender was in mint condition, and I got it for only $90. I had it shipped here and it arrived perfect...perfect body condition, perfect paint, etc. I had it sitting in my back yard up against my house in the box it came in, waiting to be installed. Anyway, this morning, I got up nice and early, and took the whole car apart. Any of you who ever changed a civic fender know that in order to do it, you need to take off the bumper, wheel, wheel well, and sideskirt to do it. I did all this, and went to the back yard to go get the new fender, and it wasn't there!!!! Someone stole it from my backyard!!! :angry: :madfawk: My next door neighbors are having a lot of work done on their house, and they have illegals running around there like cockroaches, so I'm going to make a safe assumption that one of them took it. Now I have to try to find the right fender again, but I have to shell out even more money!! And I have to take the whole car apart again :angry: I'm so pissed :madfawk:



Cliffnotes: My car got hit, I got a perfect new fender for it, took the car apart to put it on, and discovered it was stolen from my yard.

dude that does suck. Getting ripped off is the worst. And now you have to go to the hassle of hunting down a fender and then putting it on. My pet peeve in putting the fender on is trying to make sure you don't scratch the door at all when bolting the fender back on. Feel your pain.

you dont have to pull the wheel, or the wheel well off to get the fender off bumper doesnt have to come off either

Is the work being done by an actual company, or did the guy just speak to the one English-speaking representative of the illegals? "Can...you...fix....roof?"

If it's an actual company, you can file a claim against them. I'm not sure what kind of proof you'll need, but it can't hurt. Also, you may try asking your neighbor to keep an eye and an ear out (they might brag, or show it off if it's in a car or truck), and if they drive there themselves, you might check for a civic with a new fender.... matching body pieces has never been a high priority to illegals, in my experience. I even saw an IROC with like four different colors on it. Sounded horrible, too...

Just some suggestions; all hope --might-- not be lost.

 

thanks for your support guys. An acutal company is doing the work, but I think all the guys are just day laborers (the truck comes by, stops at the corner and goes "you, you, you, and you" and they jump in and go work for the day). There really is no way of getting it back...its probably down on Hunts Point already at one of the chop shops down there. The worst part is is that my town is a nice safe town, where you don't need to worry about this stuff....but when you bring these pieces of sh!t into the neighborhood, look what happens :angry:
