Default OEM style foglights...how well do they work?

I picked up a set off ebay and I see that a lot of people here have them. How well do they light up the road? Are they mostly cosmetic or do they actually serve a functional purpose?

they're fog lights, not projectors, or driving lights.... so they don't light up the road immensly, they light up about 20-30 feet in front of the car, for poor weather conditions.

foglights do there thing in bad weather...lights up the road in a wide pattern...

when you have them on with the headlights, the distance is about half of that but alot wider.

My lighting goal: 4 aircraft landing lights in a rally pod on the hood:thumbup:

Sure, I may be illegal and ugly, but theres nothing like calling forth daylight at 11:30 pm.

they make ones specifically to fit into the 4 door grille. Youd buy those, and not the ones that everybody puts in their 3/2 dooor.

Thanks for the input everyone. I guess I'll just slap them on. And yes, I have the ones specifically made for the sedan.

Well, they aren't really. The glass isn't the same as a true ellisoid. I have the "Depo" style lights, and actually if you take them apart, the bulb does not even sit the way a normal bulb would, it is perpendicular. Light output is not great, but that's what fogs are meant for.

I wanted bright light and didn't really care for fog lighting, so I installed HID Xenon bulbs in them and they light up a little better, but still not good enough as far as brightness.
