Default Speed limiter removal

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to find out how to get rid of the speed limiter on my 97 civic dx (d16y7). I know there are some kind of ecu modifications possible to do this but are there any other ways of doing this? I max out at 192km/h in fourth gear and the same in 5th gear. I really would like to fix this so that I can reach a better high speed. Any recommendations?
Thanks

Reprogram your ECU.

:slap: 1st off it's called a rev-limiter and yes you will have to reprogram your ecu or use a piggy-back like an apexi v-afc.

What mods have you got?
Does your car continue to accelerate at 120 mph?
If not, removing the speed limiter/governer isn't going to help.

I agree, 120 is pretty fast, you also may just be running up against an aerodynamic barrier. There's also no logical reason to be going that fast. Seeya.

"1st off it's called a rev-limiter and yes you will have to reprogram your ecu or use a piggy-back like an apexi v-afc." << I have a rev limiter but I want to keep that. What I really want to remove is the speed limiter. I'll explain. In fourth gear I hit what I believe to be the rev limiter @ around 6300rpm and 192km\h. After that if I shift into 5th it will still cut out at 192km\h and a lower rpm. Therefore there is also a speed limiter. In order to protect my engine I still want my rev limiter but want to remove my speed limiter. My car is a 97 civic DX coupe with too many suspension and brake mods to list so it is very stable at high speeds. I'm currently building a custom T25 turbo kit with s-afc, 450cc DSM injectors with resistor box, fuel pump and a MSD BTM Ignition so I will have enough power to actually use my 5 th gear. My problem is that with the speed limiter still there... my 5th gear is useless.

Will the s-afc remove this speed limiter? or do I really have to reprogram my ECU? If so then where can I get this done.
Thanks again!
