1998 Honda civic air conditioner blowing hot air..
1998 Honda civic air conditioner blowing out hot air.. i added a can of straight freon and only last 6 days.. How do you guys feel about leak stops? Ive heard they damage lines lines and cause pluggage... Do you think its worth me giving a leak stop a try? My compressor works fine and would turn off and on like it should when it had freon and it blew cold like it was supposed to but now it sounds dry again underneath my passenger glove compartment like it did when I first noticed it blowing out warm air.. Any idea or things I can look for before I start adding leak stop or shall I just take it in to mechanic? Please post.. thanks

I'm thinking the lever to switch over cold to hot to cold is broken.

Its not a lever.. I mean I am running ac on and it blew cold when I had just added freon then it started to slowly die out.. Now looking for a leak do you mean by adding the leak detector with a dye in it? Or do I look for a noticeable busted hose somewhere?

Ok Ill try that.. But I just thought most of the lines where behind firewall so basically impossible to follow that and feel around.. I will try and see how much I can cover though tomorrow.. thanks

I used leak detector with uv dye but do not see any leaks and still i am losing freon because my ac blows cold but I can tell it is starting to not blow as cold as when I first charged it.. Where can I look that I can not see the leak? I have a 1998 honda civic lx
