Default civic dying

2004 Honda civic. I took it on to have timing belt and water pump replaced. Mechanic did not bolt everything back down properly. Bracket that holds wire harness to alternator was not bolted down and was laying on top of alt. Wires were not completely attached to alt either. Battery died, was completely dry. Bought new battery. Car dies again. Could this all have stemmed from mechanic not properly installing alt and if so why?

I dont think loose wires to the alternator would cause a drained battery. I assume you plugged everything back in and then the new battery died. I think the problem could be elsewhere.

if ur new battery is also completly drained ur mechanic may have hooked the wires up wrong if thats possible, alt ohms? have u checked? it could have crapped out on u bro but i wouldnt use that mechanic anymore if that the work he gonna do... also if he didnt unhook the batt to do this process he coulda blowed a fuse or somethn.. those newer cars are kinda touchy lol
