does anybody know if this is a real engine? my boy said he has one for his 89 civic but i dont believe him.

 

i know there's these rocker things for lifters on muscle cars that kinda acts like vtec. it rocks between 3 positions to change the valve timing basically(like vtec does) no clue if they make it for over head cams, but it wouldnt suprise me. chances are, he's talking outta his ass though....closest thing to that i've heard of for our cars is the i-VTEC that comes on 7thgen civics and same year level hondas-acuras...this is infinitly variable, or within reason....its basically vtec when you want/need it instead of over 4500 rpm

i believe they are used for fuel economy.... similar to our VTEC-E


but i have heard that they are also found in the VTi and SiR engines as well...not totally sure on that.

 

japan gets all the cool toys....we just bust our asses trying to make our cars do what the do stock over there..lol
