And make sure you use a torque wrench so you don't overtighten it.

Crush washer? I used the same bolt I took out to drain the oil. I didn't tighten it too tight.

BTW, am I supposed to be able to remove the oil filter without any tools? I just unscrewed it. Mind you, I do have really strong forearms, but still?

You are supposed to get a new crusher washer each time you buy an OEM filter. It prevents leaks and it can only be used over once or twice then it starts leaking.

The filter is supposed to be on hand tight. That way you can remove it without tools.

I use Amsoil. Its been tested to perform better then Mobil 1. This site proves it.
http://www.synthetic-oil-online.com/supersyn.htm

Use this if your an average driver. It shows the 0w-30 which is also compatable with the 5w-30. This oil doesn't need to be changed but, every 35k miles or once a year whichever comes first.

If your into racing then use this 5w-30.

I don't think I would trust changing my oil once a year.

Ok. I did something stupid that just came to mind. I put the STP Fuel System cleaner in with the oil, instead of the gas tank. Should I worry? Does it matter? The car seems to drive fine, but just in case.

Spike....the one that should NEVER change YOUR oil

I hope you didn't start your car yet. It would be a good idea to go ahead and change your oil again.

Really? Well I've already driven it around. Its mixed in with 4 quarts of oil and a can of Restore. Change the oil again? Damn, I'm short on money and time. Anyone wanna send $5 so I can buy some oil? I take PayPal!

Oh well, guess I'll drive the family van for a while.

Also, I used the 12oz STP, not the 18oz is that matters.
