Default how much out of a Stock S engine being N/A

i was just wondering how much i could get out of the engine that comes in the stock del sol S and what would have to do to do it i really am trying to get away from turbos and i was just thinking of higher compresion and stuff like that so what do i need to do and how much power i can get?

well sorry to tell you but with a s model del sol best thing to do is bolt a rocket on each side of the car. That engine is gutless and not worth working on cause nothing will come out of it. Save for a motor swap if you can. Or forget speed and work on suspention and make it handle like no other.

Get a cam shaft from a d16a6 (CRX/civic si from 88-91) and it ups the power a bit. Then slap on a z6 intake manifold, port match the head, maybe sjave the head for some better compression, and you might be getting into the 130hp range... Depending on how extreme you get with porting, and some other parts, you can get some good power out of it. But it still would be more worth your time to slap a d16z6 into it, just to get something with more after market support, and hell, a z6 is cheap!

But he's not supposed to install an engine that's older than the stock one.

Holy old thread! And how is this using an older engine? It's a cam from an older engine, but the z6 is 92-95.... Don't mess with the bull, son. You'll get the horns.:fawk:

yeah but a 96 by law has to be replaced with same year or newer engine.. that is.. if u care about the law.. Since they arent making my car payment or helping me with a swap. Im breakin the law... im breakin the law.. haha

why does it matter? i have a 400 c.u.i. small block chevy from a 70's model gmc truck in my s15 which is a 1988, this is in no way legal but does anyone care or check? no.
