why go from a lude to a civic anyway?
on second thought, my friend wants to sell his 99 lude and get a hybrid like me
i have to get rid of the lude because it is a 97 and it has 108000 miles on it and the tranny sux. i don't really like the way the rsx looks and i need some trunk space and i don't think the rsx has any.
Well, I've driven all 3 of these cars.
I helped my sister buy a 02 EX sedan (auto though) in December. I was shocked that EX's sticker at $18G's!!!
Anyway, I got them down to $15,300 + tax, title, etc.. I drive it often and what I do like about it is that its very quiet and somewhat smooth. The engine is kinda weak, and I take it for what it is - a nice econo car. But when I drive it, I don't speed with it at all because what's the point???
It's just an EX.
Last Sept, I helped my other sister buy a 02 RSX-S. I've also driven this car a lot and it feels very luxurious, rides quiet, and is very sporty. I still like my 99 Si over it and don't think a stock RSX-S could take me, but if she ever decides to get the Hondata ecu upgrade (+25hp to the wheels!!!
) , then that car will fly.
Lastly, my brother-in-law has an 02 Si. I friggen think its ugly as hell. When it was in the garage parked next to his mom's 00 Accord coupe, it was wider and sat higher. I was like :jawdrop: That thing is a porker. I driven it many times and yes the interior is great and all, but that's it for the pro's. My brother-in-law constatly complains how the car doesn't hit 60mph in 2nd gear. That's terrible.
After driving a Lude, I think you'll be pretty dissapointed with your Civic choices. Anyway, just wanted to give you my first hand experiences with these cars... It's still your final decision to make....

I remember reading an article on shift point vs. rpm vs. speed.
Most cars (stock) are programmed such that you need to shift to 3rd to hit 100km/h (62.5mph).
i just drove the si and it isnice but the trunk was too small. i need to be able to fit my golf bag in there and it wouldn't fit. i need to go look at the rsx sometime this month what is the type s going for anyway?
The RSX-S stickers for around ~24,000. You might be able to get into a 2002 for >20,000. You could easily fit your golf bag and three of your friends golf bags in the RSX. I love the Type-S and would take that if you can afford it. My buddy's 4th Gen. VTEC Lude willl beat the Type-S by a car length, but given your basic upgrades, you'll have the speed you once did. Good luck bro'.
