exnbp, i did the same test you did when i got my h4s and there was a BIG difference between the two. stock looked liek a dirty yellow compared to teh silverstars which were very white and made a bolder pattern when pointed at a garage door. i'll try to find my original packaging and see if they have the motorcycle statement on em
Looks a little better but still nto like my silverstars. Mine are like a bright white with no yellow tint all. When I put them in and had one hyper blue POS blue still in you could easily tell the difference.
I wish I had a digi cam, I'd get pics.

I just talked to my boy. Your not suppose to get the motorcycle label. If it has the motorcycle label on it, its for motorcycles. Look into the Guide book and get the model number for your particular car. They are either sold in pairs or individually. I had part #9003 for my 98 civic. You must return them and get the right set. Tell them its the wrong ones and you would be able to exchange it. If you don;t have a reciept, i'm thinking they would still let you make an exchange. Its suppose to be REALLY bright. I haven;t installed mine yet because i'm lazy and I have one blown headlight.
The reason they say "motorcycle use only" is because the packages he got are H4. H4 is technically a motorcycle bulb designation, but physically is very similar (and in most cases exactly the same) as a 9003 bulb. 9003 (aka HB2) is the automotive designation for this bulb, and is thus subject to regulation under FMVSS108. Since the bulbs he bought are H4, technically they are illegal. But realistically, it won't matter.
If you have a 9003 bulb, the packaging will not say anything about "motorcycle use only."
I was also disappointed with the 9003 Silverstars. They look just like Cool Blues. My bro's gf has them on her Kia. She had Cool Blues before, but on burned out. My bro bought the 2-pack Silverstars. He replaced the burned out one with a Silverstar. He called me outside and said, "Guess which is the Silverstar." I guessed wrong. User EliteAccord has pics that seem very white, but photographs can be misleading due to white balance settings and monitor settings.

The beam seems to be a lot wider than before. And it actually lights the ground a bit better than before
