Default 00 Civic EX ... Always full on fuel....

Ok, I have an odd one. My gas gauge is stuck at the full mark... so what gives? Bad sending unit? Stuck floater? I recently removed my cluster to replace a bulb, and it seems that's when the issue started. I didn't drop it, jar it or anything.... I had just filled up completely when I removed the cluster so I didn't notice anything different until 100 miles later, it didn't move.....

I'd check the sending units resistance. A section of the copper band could have just snapped. Gotta love how something almost completely unrelated happens when you work on something else.

I'd check that first, easier than pulling than pulling the dash and looking at it.

Well, unplugged the wires going to the tank, gauge slowly went down .. plugged them back in, gauge slowly went up...

...hmm.. unplugging it, and plugging it back in seemed to "fix" it .. works fine now... Now I can tell that I'm actually burning fuel .. nice...

Thats pretty weird.

Maybe there was short in the connector or something. Good to hear that fixed it though, cheap and easy.
