no steering wheel is a big deterrent. all that's left is to tow.

Put it in the garage if you have one. Best way to detur theft. Other than that, if they want it bad enough, they're gonna take it.

If a thief wants your he will find anyway to steal it. Here's my opinions:
  • garage is one of your best bets
  • Autolock - so far been using this and no problems
  • Good alarm system from a reputable place. I had a stereo installed from a shop and found out later that one of the guys would get your address and steall it out of your car. So make sure this alarm place doesn't put in safe guards so they can steal it later
  • Shifter lock
  • fuel cut off
  • don't make it so flashy

That sums it all up.
And this might be ironic but...

It would help not to post your security measures that you have on the internet.

my theft deternt is ugly rims and 4 doors h:

but an alarm helps, as does theft coverage. Just keep the modding clean, and you shouldn't have a problem.

bodykits welcome people wanting to see what you got.

:chuckles: So true.

I agree pretty much with what has been said. You really can stop anyone from stealing your car, but you can keep the petty theifs away.

Sorry buddy, but your teg carries the same brand name. You are no differant. The majority of guys on this board are no older then 21, so how are we supposed to "save up for a better car" when insurance on our "cheap" cars is so much to begin with? Tell you what, go find me an insurance company that will give me affordable full coverage on an FD. And by affordable I dont mean how much money your parents have stashed away for your new 3-series . I figured out why when I faced reality. And since when does a thief in his right mind pass up a 3 Series over a Civic I hate people who make comments like this, noobies are stoopads.
You idiot, that's exactly what I'm saying. If you are going to get a Civic then you have no choice but worry about it getting stolen. Look at the theft statistics on the web; Camry is tops followed by various Civics and Integras and SUV's...the 3-series (and all the cars I mentioned are not on the list). If you don't know what you are talking about, then STFU.

Regarding the money thing, I'm correct. Instead of spending gobs of money that you earn on making a crappy car better. Why not own the crappy car for a while, and then purchase a much better car in the future. If you took offence to that simple peice of advice, then there's no point talking to you.

Here's my security system...

-Patches of rust on 1/4 panels
-Paint covered in road salt
-Mismatching body panels
-Overall not flashy look (black wheels etc...)

So far my car is still sitting outside.

Here's my security system:

Figures that if they want to steal my car they will have a hard time hiding from the law OR it would take them forever to remove all those stickers and magnets
