well... i hope u have a g4 clifford. in which case, you should already have a starter immoblizer. get the self powered siren 4, which interfaces with the g4 brain. that way, you dont need a key to shut off the siren.
in all actuality, its hard to prevent a break in, but you can do a lot to deter theft by amateurs. a good alarm (aka clifford g4) is pretty difficult to defeat (much harder than any viper/dei). if you yank the brain, it still wont start.
btw, its not smart to advertise what kind of sercurity you use. i know there arent many (any?) shady ppl on this board, but never kno....

yes it is a g4. I'm not sure if it's an upgrade, but I would like to get the 2way pager alarms to replace the g4. Well any other suggestions?

I have 2 "1996 Clinton/Al Gore" stickers, 1 AAA sticker, and a Greentree bumper sticker on my rear bumper. I've also got a bunch of road salt all over....

not only does this tactic deter theives, it also deters cops

on another note...my car looks like crap

One pretty cleaver idea is to put two sirens inside your car, under the dash. When someone breaks in and trys to find them, they'll have one hell of a time keeping their focus with the extreme noise levels in the car.

And what kind of advice is "Get a new car"?? I hate it when I get advice like that.

bad idea... you already have on of the best alarm systems on the market. just add a dei pager or something. if youre sirens (and you hsould have horn honk too) arent loud enough to hear from where you are, you're proabably too far away to do anything anyway.

Basic stuff:

- Good alarm with just nough features to make it cost-effective (you already mentioned what you want and will do). Personally, its not worth it to put anymore than $500 into an alarm for a car worth under $10G's. That's just how I feel about it.

- Additional security measure like The Club or Autolock

- Hood cable relocation : http://www.jdmfan.com/technical/audi...release_cable/

RE: audio system

- make sure everything is stealth - meaning all the wires are hidden well and that you have a deck that has a detachable face or the face can retract in. A TV/LCD screen is not stealth and will attract thieves.

- don't advertise your stereo by playing it loud in your neighborhood, when you are close to arriving to your destination (mall, school, etc) where you will be parking your car for an extended time period, and definitely not in the ghetto neighborhoods.

- PLEASE don't put stickers on your car that say Alpine or Rockford because you're basically telling the thieves what you have.

- Also, even though its your car and you want to put a body kit on, I would suggest to not do so. Body kits are expensive and painting them is even more expensive. Is it really worth it??

In the end, the lesser amount of attraction your car draws, the better off you will be. Only invest so much into anti-theft devices and car stereo. You yourself said the car ins't worth much, so why would you want to put a lot of your hard earned money into it. Just do enough to make it nice and driveable for now. You'd be better off saving money and looking into buying a better car later on.

well the easiest way i found is to rplace the bolt that hold in your ignition switch. to the thief all he has to do is pop off your steering column cover and unscrew 2 phillip screws and your car is gone. replace those 2 screws with either allen/hex bolts or if you can find those screws that only go in but not out those would be good to use. and of course get an alarm with the backup battery.

well I just bought the body kit. it doesnt' help that my car is yellow either. lol. I'm planning on changing the color though. The car is too hard to sell to make it worth anything with all the custom stuff on it, and the only thing I can do is drive it. have any suggestions? that kit I had on was fiberglass. It all cracked, so I recently bought this one. K...dont need smart remarks on the car. I painted it before the yellow fever....I need answers.
