Motor stores
I am in need of a new motor. My d16z6 is crapping out on me. I need 2 things from you guys here:
1-- What are some reliable JDM motor sellers/stores/shops?
2-- Is there a site that is dedicated to d16z6 motor parts and builds? I may keep my d16 and work the hell out of it. Just want some help and ideas if I go that route.
Thanks
Spike

If you want to build the d, get some nice pistons and rods, have it resleeved for strength, p&p the head, and get some cams. Depending what you push the compression ration up to, you could be getting the same kind of power as a B with a refreshed engine for a bit less.

Bakeoff--- Thats exactly what I was thinking. What kind of compression would I need to have to get 300 horses?
300whp is my goal. I'm just trying to find the simplest, and CHEAPEST, way to get there.
I figure $1500 or so to beef the D16, 1500 for the turbo, and some tuning time $.
Motor swap: b18c1 for 3k, beefed up internals 1000, turbo 1500, and some tuning time.
Am I anywhere in the ballpark with those figures? If I do the math, the d16 should be cheaper, plus I'll have the "cool" factor of the stock motor(I'm going OEM/JDM style, so thats a plus for me)!

there's no cheap, simple and easy way to sqeeze 300whp out of a 8-10 year old engine that's "crapping out"
if you want 300whp without alot of hassle, get a b18c1 and put in about 6psi. That should be good for close to 300whp, 200 torque. And with 6psi, I beleive you can get away with no internal build up, and hell, maybe even throw the boost up to 10psi on an otherwise stock engine.

300whp is going to be hard (expensive) on a D16. Even though I'm usually pushing the SOHC, if your goal is 300whp, I would have to say that swapping + boost would be cheaper and more reliable than building the existing D16.

i doubt you can squeeze 300 whp out of a D16 N/A
