300whp is my goal. I'm just trying to find the simplest, and CHEAPEST, way to get there.

I figure $1500 or so to beef the D16, 1500 for the turbo, and some tuning time $.

Motor swap: b18c1 for 3k, beefed up internals 1000, turbo 1500, and some tuning time.

Am I anywhere in the ballpark with those figures? If I do the math, the d16 should be cheaper, plus I'll have the "cool" factor of the stock motor(I'm going OEM/JDM style, so thats a plus for me)!

there's no cheap, simple and easy way to sqeeze 300whp out of a 8-10 year old engine that's "crapping out"

if you want 300whp without alot of hassle, get a b18c1 and put in about 6psi. That should be good for close to 300whp, 200 torque. And with 6psi, I beleive you can get away with no internal build up, and hell, maybe even throw the boost up to 10psi on an otherwise stock engine.
