launching 101
I've always revved to 3K then 'dump' my clutch (which was on my stock, with the new ACT I might be able to rev higher?). I've tried the "feathering" technique but it doesn't seem to keep up the RPMs like it does when I 'dump' the clutch?
And NO, I don't do this on a daily basis!
Opinions on your launching techniques please

When I launch, which is not often, I do not "dump" the clutch. My technique wether it be a good or bad one has worked for me, is to not maintain a certain RPM like 3k, but to keep it in a range. I basically do just that rev, like tapping the gas pedal. Then I basically "slip" the clutch as smoothly as possible on a rev. Who knows if thats right or not, but its my technique, and it works, if you can remotely understand the way I do it....?

with your ACT you'll probably wanna launch lower, the new clutch will grab a lot harder. I used to launch about 5000 on the street with my stock clutch and i/h/e which yielded equivalent 2.21-2.23 60 foots at the track. After my turbo i'm launching around 3200 with an ACT HDSS clutch, i'm still adjusting to my clutch but i'm hoping for 2.1's. Just remember depending on your setup you'll want to change your launch RPM and you want to feather the clutch when you let it out.

With a fairly stock car (by that, I mean just bolt ons), you will bog quite a bit if you launch any lower than 3K. With my stage 2, I have dropped it at everything between 3K and 5K with results that really only differ a little. 4200 or so seems to work the best so I don't get a much wheel spin, yet don't bog...

This feathering technique...can anyone explain further into detail. I think thats what I do, but (1) don't know if I do it 100% right (2) never heard that term before. Thanks.

NOT dumping the clutch. once you reach your preferred RPMs and the race is about begin let the clutch out slowly ("feather") until you feel the engagement.....that's what was explained to me
OK, well right now I only have your basic bolt-ons, so I should launch about 3K-4K?

you just said that you want to launch between 38000 and 42000. i dont think you will be doin much of that but you should be ok launching between 3800 and 4200.
