something WAAAY different
ok just to let everyone know that this car is being built for dirt track racing. now here is what i have it is going to be a 95 civic coupe i have a d15b7 block with stock internals, an all new z6 head..... and there ends the easy part...i am converting it into a carburated engine with a custom intake to house a two barrell holley carb. even still more complicated, i want to know if i can just give power to the internal coil, inline fuel pump, and starter will it start. i will post pictures later to show you the intake and carb. oh yea and almost forgot can i run the vtec solenoid strait to a push button on the stg. wheel
so i take it you're going to be using a stand alone since your going carb? and
i don't understand what you're asking...you want a button to activate VTEC???? VTEC doesn't work like that....

Here are two threads on converting to carbs:

I know there are more, but I can't remember any offhand. You can probably find some via Google.
Carbs will offer more peak power (when properly tuned), but your low-end, response, and fuel efficiency might suffer.
As stated, you cannot engage VTEC and expect it to act like a "turbo" button. VTEC is employed simply to broaden the powerband.

Search in this Civic forum. There was a post a while back about a similar set-up you're referring to, and the guy was offering to share details about his set-up, I'm sure he might be able to help you.
Definitely post pics of progress, I cant wait to see it.

thats almost to much to invest in a dirt track racer.. to convert to stand alone to void the EFI so you can run carb which would give you less HP since the Motors are Tuned to be EFI the older motors would be better to throw in there that come carbed like a JDM d14a1 D15b3 and b4

The guy built the car, his wife races it now, but it runs 13's on a carb'd D15 with a big cam, should be quite a bit quicker this season.
