Default advice needed:: installing remote bracket

i got a pioneer universal remote for my 6400 and it comes with brackets to mount the holder in the car.

i was thinking about putting it right here. (sorry not my pic i think its inspyrals . . )



i have to drill into the console and the drills are about less than an inch deep and il'l be drilling into the side. will i be hitting any wires? i just want to be sure. thanks for the help

There's no wires that run through there unless you put them there.

well i didnt think it was much of an audio related question. i just wanted to know if any wires run through that area.

and the audio forum doesnt have as much traffic as this forum : P

Take it out when you drill it if you're concerned about hitting something. Otherwise, the only wire that runs remotely near that location is the wire for the e-brake switch/sensor thing, and I think that one runs on the driver side of the console.

i think theres a lottt of labor involved in removing that piece . .. i guess im too lazy to remove the whole lower dash to get to it.

i'll juss drill carefully and hope you're right
