why doesn't honda make turbocharged cars?
But you think with the technology of a honda they could manage to make a engine thats reliable with boost. Honda better man up soon and start boostin or the competition is going to walk all over them in a couple years. Maybe
What are you talking about? Honda is one of the best selling car companies, and make great performing cars. They dont need to boost their cars. If honda felt like making a high hp car, why would they go turbo? I man they are an NA company so they would more than likely just make bigger liter engines. The competition will never walk over them.

What so-called import enthusiasts forget is that except for the Honda S2000 and the NSX, Honda doesn't care about performance nearly as much as reliability, economy, value, and market domination. My brother used to have a '93 300ZX Twin Turbo - comparing any Honda to that machine is futile, but considering the costs of ownership and reliabilty, Honda is the winner. Turbo-charged cares are a pain in the ass to own and maintain.
The way I see it:
Civic: Commuter car.
Prelude: Stylin' commuter car.
Accord- Family commuter car.
Integra/RSX- Expensive Civic, ie Commuter car with more pep.
CL, TL, RL- Lux. commuters
S2000- Expensive sports car with commuter capibility, but a great NA sports car.
NSX- The supercar, no need for a turbo.
MDX, Pilot, CRV, Element- SUV's... haha, turbo SUV, why bother.
There is nothing in the Honda line that needs or wants a turbo, and Honda's reputation for reliability would be a great risk if they made a half-assed turbo (but they would never do anything half-assed anyway) The future will tell, if the market wants a turbo (or a V8 for that) they will make it... or at least a V6 that will outdo them!

VTEC was invented.
Do a search on this topic....I have explained why...and gave a few examples of some old Honda's with turbos.

As people have stated; Honda has really dove into making turbo cars cause in most cases Honda makes economy cars. Turbos can in the wrong hands make a car really less reliable and cost more to insure and repair.
With Honda's sucess in making high hp cars especially with the S2000, 1999-2000 Honda Civic Si, RSX-S, NSX, and other cars making well over 100hp/liter why would they want to go that way?
Insurance is another reason why Honda does incorporate turbos into their cars.
Then you also make the car heavier too.
