If that brand and size comes in that speed rating...yes.

usually the low profile performance 16's will come V rated at the lowest.

The Yokohama AVID H4 and V4 are touring tires. They are meant to last longer than performance tires.

As for the speed rating...try searching for Kuhmo's website...they have all the info there.

gonna go to the site now.

so are the AVID a good tire??? i plan on getting some 15s w/ a drag radial on them so im not worried about massive grip from them. i just need my daily tires to last me more that 10K miles.

I have these tires on my rear wheels. They last like forever, but the only thing is that they are kinda loud. I've gone through two sets of front tires (other brands) (damn those Generals that last me 20,000 miles:madfawk: ) and I still havent changed the Yoko's.

Dood, it's easy peezy. We can help you out. Here goes...

W and Y are used mostly on exotics such as Lamborghini's and Ferrari's etc. No need to have them on your Civic.
If you look at the ratings for W and Y, they are rated over 149mph. So they are Z rated. It's like saying B is any number equal or greater than 3. You can say B=5 or B=134067063780 and it's true. So W and Y are Z. On the sidewall, you'll see Z. On the website, you'll see W.

My 712's are W rated according to Tirerack but they have a Z on the sidewall. (they're not just for Lambos anymore. :naughty: ) I got them because they supposedly have a softer compound which supposedly equals better grip.

Close...but exactly the opposite as has been stated. BUT, you CANNOT accurately guage one manufacturer's treadwear rating against another manufacturer's. You can only compare within a brand. They set the rating's themselves and there is no real universal standard.

One thing you should know. Forget about real tirelife if your alignment is totally jacked.

As you already know, Ziex suck. So do Nitto NT450s and tons of other "performance" tires.

If you need an all weather tire, get the Yoko AVID. I thought about getting them for the rain and snow (would still require chains though). I doubt they'll offer the performance of the Kumhos though. If you want a better performing, cheap performance tire, you'll be happy with the 712's.
