There are factors such as: Pipe Diameter, bends, exact materials made, etc... that affect the intake... nothing dramatic, but I guess if you've come down to it, every "little" bit helps.

Ya, I'm thinking about making something out of sheet metal and riveting it all together. I'll prolly make the top out of plexiglass so that I can see it, and open it up so I can replace/clean the filter. Should I insulate it? Prolly so huh? That way the heat from the motor won't heat up the interior of the box. I'm gunna do this thing!

I think he means for you to make your own piping, which would be whatever brand you want to name it. You could use an exhaust mandrel bend.

h: Hmm.... not a bad idea.Where would I get the connecting pieces (like from the intake to the t/b)?

Like I said, I considered doing that, but I don't know how I would support the AEM without the correct bracket as a s/r.
See what I'm saying?

here is how i did it. on the pipe it should have a sticker AEM. i started hacking it 1 in from the leg of the letter A. after that, i used a 60 grid sand paper to sand around the piping, just so it doesn't cut the filter. then vaccum the inside of the tube and the surrounding side in the engine bay. then use a wet towel to wipe the inside of the pipe... just to make sure u get all the metal crap. then connect the filter. the filter should sit right above a metal tube wrapped with rubber. look at the red circle. here are pics of it.
here is the bottom piping that was cut due to rubbing... and it made a slight cut through the pipe... and that was the culprit for the screaching sound i posted in the engine forum... it seems there was excess air being sucked in from the cut... and made screaching sounds on top of the regular hissing sound.
hope that helped...
