it should still work fine. as for the rust... u can try using WD40 and use a scrub thing (like the ones u wash ur dishes with) and gently scrub it to see if it comes off. if that doesn't work... then just sand it down and repaint it black to avoid future rust from forming.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use it, unless the rust is making it leak...

damn, thanks for the quick repiles. That's what I like about this site. How would I know if there's a leak just by looking at it?

You'd know if you put it in and is leaked fluid... That's about the only way to check...

OK, thanks. Just curious, anyone know what the inside of a booster look like?

That looks familiar. Did you get it off of HT? I would just sand down the rust to bare metal and paint over it.

The booster does not circulate, nor does it contain any brake fluid. The booster just multiplies the force applied to the pedal with the help of engine vacuum only.

Default What's up?

Did you get the fitting that goes to the opening that is facing the camera in the first picture. The GS-R MC/Booster will physically bolt into an EG civic (it's a tight fit getting it in past the strut tower, but it will go) but one of the lines that come from the prop valve to the MC uses a larger fitting to go into that hole on the MC (same size line, different fitting, Honda's retarded sometimes). If you don't have that fitting, it's not going to work. You will have to take the stock Civic line, rebend it to go to the oposite side of the MC and then cut the line to remove the old fitting, slide on the new one and then redo the double flare. I recommend you buy some spare tubing from a parts store and practice on the double flare first or just take it to a garage. Also, get a fitting wrench from Craftsman too. It looks like a box end of a wrench but with one side cut open (basically grabs all sides with a slit to let the pipe through). You don't want to round off those connections.
