mandrel bent- The tubing stays the same diameter when it bends. It is a smother flow for the exhaust gasses
crush bent- The diameter is slightly decreased where it bends because the it is crush bent(hence the name). Stock exhaust are usually crush bent, its cheaper and easier to make

Mandrel bending preserves the round diameter of the piping thru the bend so as to not cut down on flow. Crush bending causes the bent areas of the piping to collapse a little, deforming the once round diameter into more of an oval. Every one of the crushed bends will restrict flow, and the more bends you have, the more flow is restricted.
