power problem
i had the civic out tonight cuz i went over to mineke to get the exhaust put together, on my way home my cd player dies, then my gauges die. so im putting along with no electricity and i come to a red light and the car dies. could the CTR alternator be dead from not being run? the battery light is on when the car is on too, and i put a new battery in last night. help please...

ok, i had the car on and then took off the + and it instantly died. so i took that alt out and put the one from my dx motor in. still didnt start so i jumped it and let it charge for a while, took off the + and it died again.

i think it might be a bad ground i have causing the alt not to work properly, but i have my mom's friend who's a honda mechanic coming over tomorrow to look at it. hopefully he'll get it fixed so i can take it out some more.

excuse my stupid question, but you only learn by asking questions....to change the alternator on a B-series motor, do you have to remove the axle like you do in a D-series?

it says you have to but i was NOT about to go through all that. what i did was disconnect the stuff that was in the way of it coming out the top lol. more bolts but WAY less of a hassle than the axels.
