Default Changed mounts huge vibration

hi .. ive changed both torque mounts and 2/3 engine mounts (not the back one yet)
bought the polyurethane mounts...

now i have a huge vibration on the chassis
i was expecting for vibration but not as this
..
i have a lost in my exhaust.. i think at the flex!

could it be because of the exhaust? that HUGE vibration ???
not because i still have the back stock engine mount (not worn)...

my car : civic ex/si 96 with b18c

That's normal for poly bushings. The OEM ones are rubber and have more flex/softness to them which soaks up the vibrations. The polyurethane are 2-3x harder than the OEM rubber bushings so you will get more virbations in the cabin.

It is your engine mounts. What brand did you get and which polyurethane hardness did you order? All engine vibrations are amplified with the polyurethane.

the vibrations your feeling are probably due to the fact that your rear mount wasn't changed. The rear mount is the most important mount when it comes to torque resistance and basicly your allowing it to torque and your feeling all the vibrations through the rest of the mounts.

You increased the feeling and allowed the motor to keep the amount of torque movement that it had!

change the rear one & report back.

i agree with tony. change that rear mount. you would be surprised the way that engine is moving under a heavy load. the rear is trying to squat and the front mounts are trying to hold it still. think about it.

I could be wrong, not as experienced as those posting before me, but I doubt changing the rear mount will make much difference (ie won't help reduce the vibrations), not at idle at least.

The buzz that you feel while accelerating, engine braking, or just maintaining speed might improve some, might, but if anything I'd expect replacing the rear mount w/ a polyurethane one would make vibrations(felt in the cabin) at idle worse.

I've got a new (oem style) front torque mount on the passenger side of my '92, the rest of the mounts are original. Just putting poly inserts on the driver-side front torque mount led to a huge increase in vibration, both at idle and while driving - only positive being the eerie lack of vibration at start-up
I now run 1 insert on that front torque mount, not both, which keeps the broken oem mount in the proper position but doesn't increase vibration much.

If replacing that rear mount isn't too huge an ordeal for you, I'd at least try it with the poly one installed, since you've done the others. The improvement it makes will probably be worth it if you race.
Otherwise, if you're having 2nd thoughts about poly mounts, I'm not so sure what to tell ya - I don't even want to bother w/ trying my poly inserts on the rear mount, seems like more of a pain than it's worth

still have huge vibration
seems to be normal because of polyurethane
but my engine is totally not moving is it normal
i know its supposed to be tight but maybe not as this
is it could be too tight?

maybe i have some things loosen or not enough tight, its making noise because of the vibration its crazy lol
