Default '92 vx (D15Z1) runs rough, lots of codes...

After starting when cold, it runs fine. Once the engine is warmed up, the idle bogs down to 500+/- rmps, just enough to not stall. There is much missing and hesitation all the way up through about 1800 rpms. Once I'm above 2k, the missing and hesitation stops. Now the fun part. If it *does* happen to stall out on me and I restart, it seems to go into some kind of a "safe mode:" Idle is normal, but it governs out at 3.5k rpm. Engine codes are as follows:

4 - Crank angle sensor
9 - No. 1 cylinder position sensor
15 - Ignition output signal
22 - Valve timing oil pressure switch

[Code 48 (LAF sensor) is also on, but it always has been; they're $300 to replace! And no, I haven't tried just cleaning it yet.]

So, if anyone could give me a good place to start, I would appreciate it. Also, I replaced my distributor cap and ignition coil in January, but this problem has only arisen in the past week or so.

My initial thought after getting the codes was that my timing was off, but since my engine runs just fine until warmed up, I'm doubting that guess. But you guys are the experts and I just turn the wrench, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Yep. Definitely looks like my distributor. Took it completely apart (not expecting it to work after putting it back together) Lots of oil inside it, metal shavings, that rusty red dust stuff, and the bearing on the shaft on the metal plate between the sensors is shot to hell; lots of slack, wobbles when spun and doesn't spin on center. Cleaned it up as best I could and put it back together. I'll keep my fingers crossed when I put it back on. And instead of dropping close to $200 for a new one, which engines share the same distributor that I could just get from a junk yard or donor car?

Also, on a similar note, I need to adjust my timing (maybe?) and need to know how to remove the timing belt cover to do so (maybe?). It looks like I need to remove a mounting bracket to do so, but it may be worth it since I probably need to replace my water pump anyway. Instructions on performing both of these actions would be greatly appreciated.

Also also, on a completely separate note, I need to replace my LAF (O2) sensor, but I've heard from numerous sources NOT to get the Bosch brand, but there seems to be no others available other than a universal (which was also not recommended). Other people have stated to check eBay for a special type (L1H1, I believe) but that search yielded nothing. Any suggestions?

Hope I'm not asking too much, but you guys have always been a great help to me. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Upon closer inspection while reassembling, it seems that the entire shaft is bent (warped?), possibly from overheating (hence the reason I may need to replace my water pump). Looks like I won't be driving it until I get a replacement...

EDIT EDIT: Actually, putting the shaft on a lathe, it's perfectly straight. The problem is the Shaft Bearing. So how do I replace that?

You cant replace the bearing, you have to replace the whole distributor. BTW use this for the O2 sensor, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-N...mZ180280800967
All honda 5 wire sensors are the same, and it works. Im running it right now on my VX.

Yea, I kinda realized that while I was messin' with it. I also found this, but I'd just be more comfortable with a whole new distro, just in case the insides got a little too banged up anyway. I've been searching around and used ones aren't much cheaper than new or refurbs, anyway.

Also, in regards to the water pump issue, which I think I should just do anyway, I found this. Wish me luck!

And an $80 vx O2 sensor!? Seriously!? I have to admit I'm a little skeptical about that. I've never seen 'em less than $170 or so. (But I'll probably get one anyway.)
