I wanted a better answer than the garb. posted above thus I studied up a bit.
Amps X Volts = Watts
The Civic's alternator is rated at 70 amps.
70 X 12 = 840
840 X .5 = 420
So, the educated answer to the original question is that the Civic could handle up to a 400 watt inverter. Thank you.
