Drum brakes help
Hi everyone. I opened up one of my drums today to find that the clevis slipped off one of the shoes, the reason for my brakes not engaging on that drum. Anyways, as I proceeded to take the assembly apart, I popped off one of the rubber boots on the cylinder. Some brake fluid came out and I'm guessing the whole cylinder popped out to one side because I pressed one of the shoes against it too hard. So, my question:
-Do I need to replace the cylinder, or will a bleeding procedure fix the lack of pressure I'm getting from the brakes?

Maybe whatever you did fixed the issue. If you've bled them properly, and everything seems fine
I've never worked on drum brakes myself, my car doesn't have them and I've always found a way to avoid working on the drums of other people's cars. "I could do the fronts, but..." is a phrase I've used more than once

Heh, I noticed a lot of people on here never worked on drums. And my advice is: DON'T! Pain in the ass. I'll be soaking my bleed valves w/WD40 for the next few days, then, hopefully bleeding the brakes will do it. Thanks for the reply.
I did the saaaaaaaaame thing. Not only did I pop off the boot but i snapped the bleed valve=(
I put the boot back on and bled it best I could. Some day i will get a new wheel cylinder...someday
and yes drumbrakes suck
