how long do I leave it out for... any specific time interval before plugging it back?
I usually leave it disconnected for about 10 minutes. I don't know if it's necessary to leave it unplugged for a certain amount of time but I just do it to be safe.
When you reset ur ecu once u plug it back up, start it up but DONT NOT TOUCH THE GAS, wait until the cooling fan comes one once then u can touch the gas. That period of time lets the ECU Adapt to the new edition u put on.

I must've messed up a lot of cars fuel maps. I let it idle for about 10 seconds and I'm off.
