al this talk about adaptive ecus is pissing me off... the ecu (to my knowledge) does NOT learn things.. think about it.. we have sensors that constantly read and make adjustments based on those readings.. if you really needed to reset your ecu when you made any change... i mean think about it..... if you have a vafc adn made a 10% fuel adjustment you would need to get out and reset teh ECU before ANY changes would come about.. THATS CRAZY... i think that minimal changes do NOT effect the ECU... SINCE imo the ecu does NOT learn... MAYBE im wrong.. if i am show me tell me.. cause its driving me nuts...

I HIGHLY doubt the ECU learns... how the heck could we do swaps if it learned about that specific motor and then we use it for another one... imagine how jacked up it would make the engine run??? No way...

As for resetting it, you don't have to run it or do anything fancy, just pop out that 7.5 (Backup) fuse inside the box in your enging compartment for a couple of minutes and replace it... simple.

I've done it a hundred times and it never changes...

see thats the thing thats what im sayign.. so with that logic... WHAT THE HELL does reseting it do.. oh wait i have the answer.. NOTHING.. lol the ONLY time i KNOW it to do something is when a dangerous engine has been read by the ecu...

Well.. think about it, why do you restart your computer at home? Sometimes it gets jacked up and doesn't run right... so, you've got to start it fresh again...

That's the way I see it, I have been wrong before.

right we STILL agree.... it getting jacked up is when it reads something it doesn't understand (ex. bad 02 sensor reading) throws a code and tells you somethigns bad, outside its ability to undersand.. you need to fix it.. then reset it...

but i think we still agree that the amount of air increase from a CAI is NOT outside its understanding...UNLESS it throws a code... then you WOULD need toreset it

step 1, pull negative battery terminal off battery

step 2, put it back after a few mins....it's pretty self explanatory

oh yeah...if you have the stock radio, make sure you have the security code before you pull the battery off.
