Short shifter help
ebay's got generics for about $20. I have a DC sports. I love it and it was $90 from optauto.com. I've been told the generics work fine but I can't say for sure cause I've never had one. If I could do it all over again I'd probably get a generic and spend the $70 elsewhere.

what is generally better: lighter or heavier shifters? some people have told me heavier is better, some people lighter is better. comments anyone? i think you guys know a lot better than the people i've heard from. :-)

i have a generic one, its alright, some dumbass told me it would break, but he was wrong. short shifters put a lot of stress on the linkage/tranny. decide its something you want before you **** up your car.

There are plastic shifters. They are light but of course they snap.

seems like an alloy would be stronger and not snap.
hmm, i wonder about carbon fiber.
on my old maxima i had trouble finding parts so i was foolish enough to actually saw off the top of the shifter. it was ghetto as hell and i felt like a ricer but it got the job done. right now i have a $30 matrix short shifter in my civic. it works fine and doesnt feel like its gonna break anytime soon. B&M is the way to go if you want to spend the money. oc_civic has B&M and his throws are very short and smooth. for me i would rather spend to money somewhere else though and just practice getting consistant shifts.
