the 1157 fits right in. and yes, it says right on the side of the bulb bottom peice "1157". but when the 1157's are in, thats when the turn signals act funny. so i concluded that those arent right

1157's will fit in 1156 sockets and vice versa.

LOOK at your harnesses and see if they have two connectors that match up with the 1157 bulb. If not...then you dont have 1157 harnesses

Sorry doood, but they don't. If you jam it in the sockets, then maybe. But the little tabs that stick out of an 1156 bulb are even while the tabs on an 1157 bulb have one higher and one lower. There are bulbs that were stock on the car and they weren't 1157.

I thought it was like a 39XX or something like that. Basically the bulb did not portrude like an hourglass. Just a straight bulb. But I don't see a reason why an 1157 bulb wouldn't work. He must have different sockets on the car.

the 1157's fit right into the socket but didnt work right. the bulb that i need doesn't bubble out like the 1157's do. its a straight bulb. the guy at auto zone also looked at them while the 1157's were in there and said those werent the right ones

I have a '95 Sedan DX and 1157 fit right in there.... I don't see why they would have changed that harnees from '92 to '95, but hey, Honda does weird things sometimes.

Search around on that site to see if you can order them from Sylvania directly. The only other thing to do if you've been to all of those places is to go to the Honda Dealership and get the bulbs from them...

Hope it helps.

Also, if it's such a pain in the ass to get those bulbs, you may consider going to a junk yard and cutting the connectors off of a '95 or something. I know for a fact that 1157s work in my harnesses and they're a dime a dozen (as you well know by now). That's what I would do.

Go to a junk yard and get those connectors. that's your easiest solution for now and for the future.

The 3496 bulb has one post contact on the bottom of it. The 1157 has 2 of them, which is probably why the 1157 doesn't work properly. I have 3496 bulbs for my front signals. I had to hunt for years it seems to find amber bulb cover for my bulbs. I don't think they come in amber.
