Default Which coolant? 96 civic hx?

Ok I'm confused.

I drained my Honda and the antifreeze was a greenish-blue. Supposedly the last person put blue antifreeze in there.

However, when I went to NAPA they told me I need Dex cool for my honda?

What gives? Dang, nothing is wrong the good old green stuff!

for Honda's, coolant is coolant. If you are doing a flush just throw some new shit in there and try not to mix and match too many different brands. I use Acura coolant in mine only cause its free, but I have used Peak and about 23 other random brands of coolant over the years and my honda has never been mad about it. Now is a good time to change the thermostat while the coolant is drained also

I wasn't doing a complete flush, so yeah, I didn't want to mix and match. Turns out honda makes a blue-colored coolant they use in their cars it is different than the green and orange stuff.

Turns out the guy at NAPA had the wrong coolant for the honda - thank goodness I didn't dump that dexcool in there. $9 for gallon of 50/50 honda blue antifreeze at the dealer, no worries.

By the way anybody looking for a radiator NAPA had a new aluminum one for $76 bucks with a lifetime warranty!
