Thanks man. Do you ride that Busa much? Ever take it on the drag strip? What kind of times are you getting.

I like to run my R1 on circuit courses (VIR, CMP, etc), but I don't get to do it as much as I'd like to because of my job and the cost of track days.

Okay, I tried the technique above on all four plugs and nothing. The car of course ran like crap without the plugs, but once I put them back (one at a time of course) it went back to normal.

Any ideas? Anyone???

Odd. Perhaps you need a new cap and rotor. Wires and plugs arent the issue, spark is, perhaps?

BTW, I'm a bike freak too.

How long ago did you change your plugs? What wires are you using? Have you checked your timing lately?

Did you reset the ECU?

Its been a while since I've replaced the plugs, so i am going to replace the plugs and wires and reset my ECU.

A plug can misfire once and set off the sensor and not have misfired when I did my little test. This is why I decided to change my plugs and wires...that and it's been a while since they were changed anyway.

What plugs/wires are you looking at getting?

A friend of mine recommended Autolite; he is pretty mechanically inclined and he has had good luck with those. I looked at MSD, but I'm not sure I want to spend $90 for some wires.

I'm really questioning the new cap and rotor that I got about two months ago. I don't know how much to trust the guy at the shop I took it to. I'm going to wait until tomorrow and maybe take a look at it and check it for corrossion.

Which wires and plugs do you recommend?

Do a search for spark plugs. Someone just had a thread open about who likes what...

I run NGK iridiums and have never had a problem with them. I also run Magnacor 10mm wires. They're huge and probably way overkill. You could get a good set of NGK wires too. They're decent in pricing. I may be able to get you a good deal on wires. I'll call my guy tomorrow and get a price for you. PM me with your zip code so I can get you a shipped price.
