I hate this bring this up but... intakes.
Right now I have an AEM CAI in my Civic, its all gravy but im coming to a point where I either wan't a bypass valve shoved on or a short ram instead. I know there is no way that water is getting to my intake with a short ram.. but there is still a chance even with the bypass valve that I think water might do damage.
So should I sell my CAI and buy a short ram just to be worry free? And if so, what brand?
Or should I just get a bypass valve and cross my fingers?

And don't even link to that search button either, I just want your opinions. thanks

Is there a chance you may still injest some water? Yes. Will it be enough to hydrolock your engine? No.
If the filter gets splashed with some water, it may pull some of it into the intake charge, but it'll be a miniscule amount that won't really effect your engine.
If the filter gets submerged in water, then the intake will follow the path of least resistance, and pull aire from the bypass valve.

i am happy my CAI is a 2 part.. i take off the ext in the winter and put it on in the spring...
i suggest something like that
plus having the 2 part will ease the installation of a bypass.. if you still want that for them rainy days
