Default Installing front bumper kit

I bought a buddy club full kit for my 97 civic coupe from a friend off his old car and everything fits just perfect except for the front bumper. It is getting caught on the "cross bar" that runs across the width of the car. Its a huge thick bar that is located right below the headlights, Im pretty damn sure that its connected to the frame.

BTW, the kit gets pretty damn close, so would some hard sanding on the inside of the bumper allow enough clearance?

Some people remove the bumper support(which you've dubbed the "cross bar"), which I don't recommend doing. Your other options are to trim the bumper like you said(I'd recommend that), or you can take a plasma cutter and notch out your bumper supper. Option #2 is the safest/easiest way to do it. Use a cutoff wheel and a grinder. Or failing that, a Dremel. Take your time and make your cuts as straight as possible. It'd probably look best of you removed an equal amount of material all the way around the opening, as opposed to just notching for the bumper support. After the kit is painted, you can paint the bumper support black so it'll blend in better.

all my buddies have removed the bumper support, you could do it but if you get into a accident there will be alot more damage to your car,i would cut and knotch the kit.

like inspyzee said either modify the bumper support or take it off
few aftermarket bumpers are made to fit on it, some do though, but most require modification
