When I autocrossed with my 00 Civic Si I couldn't drop it more than 2" with OTS Koni Yellows. The shocks would bottom out. I called the rep and he confirmed it with me. If I wanted lower I would have to get the Ground Control top hats.

Did you put the clip on the middle of each shock (front and rear). On the Koni fronts you have 3 levels you can put the clip that holds the coilovers in place. Which one did you put it on? Same for the rear.

the perch clip is on the top notch for the fronts, and is in the middle notch on the rears.

i'm just surprised because i hear of so many ppl running this setup without any problems, and i would assume atleast a small portion of those people would be smart enough to check shock travel. so are they are just riding on bumpstops lol.

i'm gonna make a call over to GC and to Koni today too. boy am i bummed, spend all this money and can't even acheive the setup i want, sigh. looks like i'm gonna go ahead with the extended top hats for the front, then i'll make my own for the rears. i'll make em a lil bit taller in the rear.

btw i appreciate the responses, i haven't been able to get a single reply all weekend on HT.

Well, sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck with everything and let us know how it all works out! At this point, I guess getting some extended top hats is the most logical thing to do.

Dropping it anymore is not going to be usefull on the streets I hope you know. You will have alot of negative camber front and rear, and it can be downright scary in the rain or on uneven pavement. Plus your suspension geometry will be putting more wear and tear on things.

i wouldn't drop it any lower than 1 finger in the front, 2 finger in the rear. the car is a daily and i like having my ground clearance. but i also like the stance it has at that height. at that height i don't have much camber wear, agian its daily driven so it sees it's share of road use. but i do appreciate the concerns/points of interest to take note.

lkailburn, did the extended top hats fix the shock travel problem? I don't quite understand how an extended top hat works, but I hope it all worked out for ya.

I just installed my Tein Super Street coilovers on Thursday... They're sweet My old setup was KYB AGX sturts on Tein H.Tech springs.

oh sorry i didn't update. here's my how to guide with added shock travel:
http://www.lukekailburn.com/konigcsuspension.html

i put the top hats in the front and did the shock fork travel. now with the same 1 finger gap height i have about 1.5" of travel between the body and the new gc bumpstop. setup has been riding good but i noticed some oil (looked more like motor oil) around the lip of my front right koni. i contacted koni and the guy said it looked like just assembly oil and not to worry. i'm putting on a new set of wheels in a week so when i have it back up i'll recheck and pray my brand new setup isn't leaking.
