if you mount a b16 into a 4th gen you'll need to get a kit.

5th gen is primarily bolt in, if you use a hydro tranny.

cable tranny will require the mount kit.

why would i convert my shiit to cable...i dont see a point...:dunno: but we arent talking about 4th gens.

anyhow is that to much money for the block and crank?

it's called information... i was telling you why there are kits for the first gen. what cars need them, and why you would need one if you were bolting a first gen b16 into an EG.

jesus sometimes I wonder why i reply to your questions.

I thought JE pistons already came with the rings?

Anyway, yes, be sure to get new bearings. That's about it, unless you sleeve it.

Well, boys and girls, the drivers side mount on first gen B16A's is different then the later B16A's. The whole kit includes the mount for that side as well as the tranny mount for a cable tranny. I guess if you used a hydro tranny on a first gen B16A that would eliminate the need for the tranny mount but you still need the drivers side custom mount and I'm not sure you can buy just one mount. Trust me, I have one first gen B16A in my CRX, an SIR II B16A in my coupe, and another first gen B16A and tranny hanging in my garage.
