Default 97 Ex cooling system questions

I am just starting to do do maintenance on my wife's car (just out of warranty, had been getting 15Ks done at dealer), and haven't gotten around to getting a FSM yet so have a couple basic questions.

I am trying to install a backflush coupler, but need to be 100% sure which hose to cut - which means I need to be sure where the water pump is (it does not appear to be where it has been on any other cars I have owned).

I don't see any hoses on the belt side of the engine, so I assume the water pump is the funky looking contraption just under the fuel rail near the engine/tranny mating surface. (looks like it would be a PITA to change, rather tight). If that is the case, it must be driven by a cam inside the block (like the fuel pump on my old sentra).

Also, where exactly is the coolant burp valve I saw mentioned in another thread - someone said it was near the upper hose on the block but I don't see it.

Thanks in advance.

umm the water pump is to the left side of the block way down there. where the driver side mount be. makes sense on hondas to replace it when u do ur timing belt.

the burp valve? u mean to completely flush it? if thats it then look towards the block left side front, and there is a 17mm bolt u take take off and that will drain the coolant.

Hmm - I guess I was looking at the thermostat housing - so I guess the water pump doesn't have any hoses going directly to it? The supply channels must be inside the block.

No I don't mean the drain plug - I mean the valve to let out air bubbles. Someone mentioned it in another thread.

That is correct.
And for the air bubbles just keep the rad. cap off and keep adding coolant until it's full and the engine is warm. Recap it and fill the resevoir.
