you can use rubbing alcohol....I used it to remove the sticky crap when I removed my dealership emblem......when you are installing certain components (like the rear lip I'm installing tomorrow), Honda says to clean the area with rubbing alcohol, so if they recommend it, it can't harm the paint.
I used this stuff called "Zep". Its almost like Goo Gone, but I think it works better (maybe its in my head). I used it to take off the stupid little decal thing the dealers put on the back of the car that says their dealership. It took off the glue gunk fairly easy and didnt do any damage to the paint, as far as I could tell.
