Default Wheel hub, lug nut question for anyone?

My question is for anyone that may own some Rota Slips.. anyone have any experience of if a hub center ring would do anything for this wheel cause i've heard that it doesn't.

Also does anyone know of any black chrome rust free lug nuts?

Thanks

I would recommend these for wheel lugs. I've used them on my wheels and I love them!

As for hub centric rings, I have no personal experience with them and I haven't used them with any of my aftermarket wheels. Sorry. h:

I'm going back and fourth with chrome or black and I'm sort of leaning towards chrome since the wheels are polished aluminum.

These don't say if they are rust free or not. I'm wondering if their description is sound since they are Gorilla lugs...

Where do you live that you have to worry about the lugs rusting?

I don't own the chrome version (I have black) but for the 3 something years that I've owned my wheel lugs, I have not experienced any kind of rusting whatsoever.

I ordered the Gorilla Open End tripple lugs so im hoping they last. Ill probably do somthing new this time everytime i take off the lugs. Ill put a tiny towel on the end of the lock key so it doesnt scratch the insides of the lug while it puts pressure when i go to turn it.

Some wheels are lug-centric (the lugnuts center the wheel on the hub) and some are hub-centric - (the wheel is centered on the hub by a plastic ring) - this plastic ring is placed on the wheel hub before the rim or placed in the hub hole in the center of the wheel. If the new wheel didn't come with them, they are probably not needed since your wheel is lug-centric. And if it did come with hub-centric rings you will have a vibration if they aren't used since the wheel won't be centered on the hub. If you bought the wheels used, then you will just have to trust the person selling them I guess if he/she says the wheels never had them new. Your best bet it to call the wheel company or the vendor that sells the brand of wheel to be sure.

I had a bad experiance with MCgard lugnuts - one of them broke while I was taking it off. another one showed a crack at the tip area so was close to break poit too ... could it be a material they use or maybe I overtighten them - no idea ...

see the pciture i took. The one to the left is broken (the tip is gone) and the one to the right has a crack at the same area
