Default What your miliage?

My next car needs to pinch fuel with my 60k drive to work and raising prices. I'm thinking of an 07 or 08 civic. Let me know if your auto or stick and what your miliage is,, even for older civics. Does anyone have the new 5 speed auto? Does that make a difference in miliage?

Fuel economy depends more on how the car is driven than transmission type. And also what kind of mods it has, and how its been maintained.

93 Civic Si with 218K miles gets about 30mpg. sometimes I get 35mpg.
00 Civic Si with 70k miles got about 30mpg.
91 Civic Si with 180k miles got 35-40mpg. Once coming back from State College, PA I got 60mpg

They best econo Civic to get would be the CX or VX. They get about 40-45mpg.

I'd say its fine. All depends on a number of different things. ie: the most optimal highway speed is ~60mph, after that you fuel economy decreases. And, you will hardly ever get the same fuel economy as a manual. Just keep up with the scheduled maintenance, make sure everything is to spec. For example, even such things as tire pressure will effect your FE.
