Default b16 to b18

advantages/ disadvantages (if any) of swapping the block of a b16A2 (00 Si) to a b18c1

would this be costly, below $1200??

what extra parts would be needed (connecting rods, etc) and I would like to keep my a/c and pwr steering.

Now do you want to put a b16 head on a b18 block..? i am pretty sure that the head and block will bolt up fine. you will have more compression when you do that, because the b18 has a bigger piston,it will give you more h.p not sure how much but i should work

it give you more torque. it will match up fine..b series to b series. i belive this can be done way under $1200 just depends on how you go about it and buying the parts if you want to upgrade the internals. while your at it, might aswell change your timing belt and water pump and other misc shiit so it wont be needed till far into the feature.

h: oh man......a b-series motor w/ swap w/ anyother b-series motor..ie, b16head w/ b18b,b18c1,b18c5(which has a b16 head)b20 block and you can use any tranny you want from a b series also.

wow, thats good news

just to get it on the road and running, would a new timing belt and water pump suffice?

later on down the road internals will be needed but what and I suppose from the gsr block?
what about the ecu?

1...since your engine will be pulled out you might aswell do it...no harn in it.

2...from internals...they would be gs-r internals..unlesss you stoke it out.

3....you can use your current ecu w/ no problem. if you have a buddy w/ a gsr that is obd2(96 and up)try running it with his and she if it runs better.
