replacing the stock steering wheel
I want to replace the stock steering wheel in my 98 civic. I have a p28 obd1 chipped ecu installed. Don't know if they are even working. If the stock steering wheel is removed will the air bag deploy? Will I throw a code?
Thanks guys!

no they won't blow, the airbags are run by a seperate module from the ECU so yes they are still working...annnnd no you will not throw a code if you replace the wheel with another OEM wheel such as the S2000 wheel. If you install an aftermarket wheel with no provisions for airbag than yes the SRS light will come on.

Ok This whole thing has got me going about an S2000 wheel, something i've always wanted to do. Do you know if they bolt up directly to a 2000 civic's colum? And the airbags are 100% compatible? I didn't know that, can you tell me more?

What years are AP1 and AP2? I might be able to get a hold of a 2001 S2000 wheel, is 2001 AP1? or did they make both versions through the S2000 years?
