Default @Ebay power adders?

I have 98 Civic Coupe with stock (D16Y8?) engine and manual transmission. I was thinking about adding some power to it and maybe some more sport-like "engine noise" so I was looking over ebay for some staff for it and i want to ask you guys if those things are really working, and in what way (better or worse). I'm talking about HiFlow Cat Converter and Cold Air Intake filter.

Here is some examples of what i'm talking about.

Well the "cat" is really a test pipe and since your car is OBDII you have an O2 sensor after the cat. Since that "cat" isn't actually doing anything you will foul up O2 sensors like mad. It's really hard to say how efficient the filter on that CAI is. At least it's a K&N knock off so it might be alright. But if you put that on all in all you'd probably gain a whole 3hp. :hs:

the only things that will add noticible power is turbo and changed headers and the whole exhaust piping, you can buy all that on ebay, but have to be very careful, you get what you pay.
to add some noise just buy a muffler (which will not add power without bigger piping and headers)or buy a cheap short ram intake, i have it, and love it, it gives a nice deep sound, some cai piping from ebay are sometimes not bend for proper fit.

Just...shut...up.

A HEADER will give you maybe 4 horsepower as well as a full exhaust system. Like said above, I/H/E will net you maybe 5 horsepower on the D16Y8. The only way to get good power is by turbocharging/supercharging/nitrous/building engine, any of those will net you noticeable gains. An intake is an intake is an intake. They are all filters attached to a pipe. Just buy a K&N filter to put on the end of the pipe. To the OP if I were you I'd save up and buy a greddy turbo kit and call it a day.

JoePoonani, did you actualy read and understood my post, or you just like to write same thing?
i didnt say that headers and full exhaust will add as much hp as turbo, it will be more than 4 thats for sure, again depends on the what piping and exhaust you put in. i know some guys who did the i/h/e and gained an average of 15 hp on their motors.

i would really like to see what combination of intake/header/exhaust increased whp by 15 on a d16y8

as for the op
you want to make your car louder?
umm, why?

I guess its hard for a person to understand your post who has only one header in his car. And you wont get 15 hp even if you take off your exhaust manifold alltogether.
