Default new to H-A.net

Hey what's up, My name is Doug. I just registered and this is my first post actually. I drive a 2002 EM2. I've had the car since 03 when it was bone stock. At the time I didn't realize it was the "bastard" civic but I love it all the same. I've come a good ways from bone stock but I still have a good way to go...but I've come to the realization that I'll never truely be finished.

I'm always looking to learn new things about my car and cars in general. I'm a late bloomer with being a car enthusiast. I was so busy in high school with other things that I didn't really care too much what I was driving, untill I moved out. At the time I drove a 94 corolla and a female friend of mine was so obsessed w/ honda's she begged me to buy her friends 98 4door. I loved that car the moment I saw it. It was true to form for the year 2000. It was a little on the ricey side...a few graphics, euros, but all in all it was a good lookin' ride. I loved driving it until I killed a fence with it. Then I bought a 96tl but after a year or so with the TL I had to get back into a civic and that's when I picked up my current ride.

Mod list.

Under the hood:
D17A2
Darkforce SRI
Megan Stainless header
HP JSpec Exhaust
NGK Irridium Plugs

Drivetrain:
Revo Technica short throw
Titanium Type R style shift knob
Carbon weeve shift boot
Stage 1 Clutch
9 pound flywheel

rollers, rubbers, stoppers
16" ICW Arachnid Wheels
Cooper Tires 205/45
ceramic pads on stock rotors

suspension:
Megan Springs (going to get some skunk2's asap the megan's suck)
Tokico Blues
Progress Camber kit F/R

Audio:
Eclipse CD2000 deck
Polk Audio OEM replacemnet speakers

Exterior:
35% tint
Silverstar bulbs
debaged trunk lid
I "heart" my honda plate frame.

Future plans
UR Ultra SS pullies
New springs
Start saving for boost

If you're going to do pulleys, that's the one you SHOULDN'T do. Most aftermarket crank pulleys do not have adequate damping abilities and will eventually ruin your engine block.

I wouldn't recommend replacing any pulleys in the first place, unless you're building a dedicated track car.

truth.

except I will disagree about the track car, I absolutely wouldn't put it on my track car. Those cars will be the ones seeing sustained high rpm abuse, where most of the dampening is needed in the crank/other pullies. If it is a track dedicated car, delete ps/ac and run a single CTR alternator only pulley.

I wouldn't put one on my track car either, for the same reason as you.

I guess my point was that you don't want to risk losing your daily driver, but it was early and I didn't think through what I was saying. :doh2:

EDIT: I think when I said "I wouldn't recommend replacing any pulleys in the first place", I meant P/S, A/C, and Alternator pulleys. My wording was so ambiguous that I'm not even sure what I meant...
