Default AC diagnosis

I finally finished the D16z6 motor rebuild/replacment. Hooked up my a/c stuff and it won't take a charge???? this is puzzling to me. Maybe the reciever dryer is clogged. It was only un bolted for 7days total. Anyone have any suggestions or advice? I dont' know a whole lot about a/c it's a 134a aftermarket kit

Was the system opened at all? Or just unbolted?
If it was opened, you'll have to get a vac put on it to suck all of the atmoshere out, then it should take a charge.

If it wasn't opened, is it already charged?

Could be a number of things. I suggest you take it to a a/c specialist shop and tell them you want them to recover the freon so you can do a retro fit. Most shops, like in California, do it for free and they also check out your a/c system. Call around and ask if they do it for free.

Anytime you take off a/c lines, you have to evacuate the system before you charge it. I know this because I have replaced a/c lines in my civic as well.

Make sure to evacuate it for a couple of hours to get all the moisture out of the system.
