Default Steering wheel and SRS airbag swap???

Has anyone ever swapped in another OEM Honda steering wheel and functional SRS airbag from other Hondas? If so, has anyone ever sucessfully hooked up the airbag and not get any SRS lights?

I think you told me once that it has been done in the 96-00 Civics. But I am trying to ascertain if there are any signal differences (voltage and impedance) between the 92-95 and 96-00 SRS computers?

well the reason alot of people put say early S2k wheels on the 96-00 is because of the spline count on the hub. As far as I know, As long as the generations of SRS are the same than it is plausible to hook into the SRS brain. The hard part is going to be getting any wheel worth while on the 92-95 hub spline.

You are correct about the 92-95 splines. That's why I transplanted an EK column into the car (1995 Civic coupe). I had to have it modified and lengthened 3 inches at the bottom part of the shaft...............let's get our minds out of the gutter............LOL.

Anyway I have already transplanted an S2000 steering wheel into the car. I am using the S2000 SRS cable reel/clock spring. I spliced those wires to the dash harness under the steering column. My horn and cruise control work great. All I have left is to hook up the two airbag wires.

So the big question remains, if you can hook an S2K airbag to an 96-00 EK SRS computer w/o any problems, then can the same be done with the 92-95 SRS computer? Are there any signal differences between the two SRS computers?

The only thing that troubles me is the S2K is single stage but still SRSII while the 92-95 is original SRS system if I remember correctly.
